Overall awards are based on gun time, all others are based on net time.

        Awards to top Open Coed and top Masters Coed teams

             

Team Information

  1. Team types are Open Coed and Masters Coed (all members must be 40 or older).

  2. The minimum team size is three with at least one male and one female on each team.

  3. Team type will be determined by registered team composition. If anyone under 40 joins the team, the team will be scored in the Open competition, otherwise if all team members are 40+ it will be scored in the Masters competition.

  4. The first team member to register creates the team name, and other team members specify the team name during registration

  5. The team score will be the sum of the net times of the three fastest team members with at least one man and at least one woman. If a team has fewer than three scoring finishers, the team will be disqualified.

Time Cutoff

For the safety of our participants, the 8K has a time cutoff of one hour and 15 minutes (15 minute/mile pace).

Corrals

We are still studying the options and safety considerations for managing the race start. If a mass start is not advisable, we will be enacting some form of wave start. For that reason, we are making corral assignments at the time of registration.  Further instructions will be provided prior to race week.

An awesome short-sleeve technical shirt is included in your registration.  We love the shirt design this year!

EVENT SCHEDULE

Thursday, June 17

     4-7pm: Packet Pickup at  Charm City Run - 467 West Patrick St, Frederick

Saturday, June 19

     6:00pm: Packet Pickup at race venue

     7:25pm: Athletes Serving Athletes 8k race start

     7:30pm: General 8k Race Start

     8:00-10:30pm: PARTY!  (assuming that we  can safely hold our after-party)

     

Race-Day Registration

Online registration is open through race day, but please be aware that entry fees increase on Thursday June 17 and again on race day. 

Race-day registration at the race venue must be completed online on the participant's own mobile device with payment by credit card. There will be no shared-use registration kiosks or paper entry forms, and in-person payment cannot be accepted.

Race day registrants will be directed to a specific race-day packet pickup line. 

Race shirts may not be available for race day registrants. 

 

POST-RACE CELEBRATION

After you cross the finish line, come celebrate at the after-party and listen to some live music. Grab a beer, get some food, and enjoy the sponsor/vendor booths. 

ENTERTAINMENT

We are SO excited to have the band Triple Lindy booked for our post-race entertainment! They will be playing 8:00pm - 10:30 pm on the stage in our celebration area.  Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and settle in for the show.

 

 

FOOD

As another enhancement to our post-race party, we'll have an awesome Mediterranean food truck on-site. So after your race, plan to stick around for dinner while you enjoy the music.

BEER

One beer ticket and post-race food are included with your registration. Additional beer tickets may be purchased by runners and spectators for $5.00. 

Water and some non-alcoholic beverages will be available adjacent to the beer tent. Other N/A beverages for sale at the food truck.

 

You MUST bring photo ID in order to be served beer. No exceptions.

Please drink responsibly. Consider using Frederick County's SOS Safe Ride to get you and your vehicle home safely if you find you've overdone it. Our volunteers will be happy to help you arrange for transportation.

PARKING

Parking will be located in the lot behind the Fire Hall, and the adjacent grassy area.

 

Overflow parking is available at Walkersville High School.  There will be parking attendants on site to assist.

PLEASE enter W. Frederick St from the south off of Rt 194 (Woodsboro Pike), as shown on the diagram. The road will be closed at the north intersection of Rt 194 and Frederick Street.

RESULTS
To minimize gathering spots at the race venue, race results will not be posted or available via shared-use kiosks. Runners can check their results via our real-time results portal.  The QR code on your race bib will take you directly to your individual results!

POLICIES
No Bib transfers and No Refunds (See here for FSRC Policy)  

Weather Policy - We love the summer season, but occasionally the weather can be uncooperative.  At the discretion of the Race Director and Town of Walkersville municipal and emergency officials, the race may be postponed, changed to an untimed Fun Run, or canceled. Sorry, no refunds.

Any runner finishing more than 75 minutes after race start may not receive an official time. 

For your safety and the safety of those around you, headphones are discouraged.

Dogs, bicycles, skates, and strollers are not allowed and runners in violation of this policy are subject to disqualification and removal from the course.

Note: Strollers/sports chairs associated with the Athletes Serving Athletes program are permitted.

COVID SAFETY
We are currently developing our COVID safety plan and it will be clearly communicated in runner/volunteer instructions.

  • Masking and Social Distancing will be observed, although runners will not need to wear masks on the course

  • Our starting corrals will be limited to 50 runners each and will be sized to allow appropriate spacing

  • Processes for bib pickup, water stops, food/beer service, etc will all be designed for minimal interaction between runners/volunteers
